Singh shared an emotional note on social media, stating, “I am happy to announce that I am not gonna be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. I am calling it off. It was a wonderful journey”.

He expressed a desire to evolve as a “small little artist” and learn music on his own terms, away from the pressures of the film industry. 

His retirement applies strictly to new film playback projects. He has clarified that he is not quitting music entirely and will continue to focus on:

  • Independent Music: Creating and exploring music outside the commercial Bollywood system.
  • Live Performances: Continuing to connect with his audience through concerts.

He confirmed he will honor all existing contracts, meaning several previously recorded songs will still be released throughout 2026.
