Global Crash : 

Spot silver plummeted roughly 12-15% globally to around $77 per ounce.

MCX Impact : 

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), silver futures for March delivery fell by 6%, trading at approximately ₹2,52,719 per kg.

Historical Context :

Despite today’s drop, silver remains significantly higher than last year’s averages but is down from the record high of over ₹4 lakh per kg seen on January 29, 2026.

Investment Outlook : 

Analysts at Livemint report that major producers like Hindustan Zinc are seeing stock pressure due to this price crash.
