India Weather Forecast Today: What to Expect in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore

Today, January 23, 2026, a powerful western disturbance is causing significant weather shifts across North and Northwest India, leading to active winter conditions. 

Delhi wakes up to rain, thunderstorms; temperature drops

India : Intense Winter Disturbance 

A strong western disturbance is currently impacting north and northwest India, bringing a mix of heavy precipitation and sharp temperature shifts.

Delhi-NCR :

An orange alert has been issued for the capital. The region is experiencing light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds (30–40 kmph). This follows a record-breaking warm start to January.

Western Himalayas : 

Fresh Snowfall Manali

Heavy rainfall and snowfall are predicted for Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Manali is expected to reach a freezing 0°C today. Heavy snowfall and rainfall, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, are predicted for the western Himalayas, including Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.

Plains (Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, UP) : 

Widespread rainfall and hailstorm alerts are in place for parts of Punjab , Haryana, West Rajasthan, and North Uttar Pradesh.

South India : 

Tamil Nadu and Thiruvananthapuram remain warmer than usual, though isolated rainfall is possible in some districts.

Karnataka & South India: 

Bengaluru and Mysore are experiencing clear to misty mornings with temperatures between 14°C and 28°C. Cloud cover is expected to increase over the weekend.

Fog & Air Quality : 

Dense fog continues to affect visibility in the morning hours across the northern plains. Hazardous AQI levels (over 400) persist in Delhi, Noida, and Gurgaon.
