The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a central government initiative launched by the Government of India in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare to help farmers meet their financial demands for agricultural inputs and household expenses.
The Scheme disburses a total amount of Rs 6,000 to farmers in three equal installments of Rs. 2000 each. Farmers waiting for the 22nd Instalment of PM-Kisan scheme are expected to get Rs 2,000 in their bank account between March-April 2026.
In a recent announcement, the government has made it mandatory for all eligible farmers have an Aadhaar Card and do e-KYC to obtain their instalments under the scheme.
The PM-KISAN scheme offers multiple methods for completing e-KYC, including OTP-based e-KYC, face authentication-based e-KYC, and biometric-based e-KYC.
The OTP-based e-KYC can be done by following the below mentioned steps : –
To carry out OTP-based e-KYC, the farmer must possess an active mobile number that is linked to their Aadhaar. To do this, please follow these steps : –
1. Navigate to the PM-KISAN portal at (https://pmkisan.gov.in/).
2. On the homepage, navigate to the ‘Farmers Corner’ section and click on the ‘e-KYC’ link.
3. Enter your Aadhaar number in the designated field.
4. Submit the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number for verification.
5. After successful OTP verification, your e-KYC will be updated in the PM-KISAN database.
NOTE :
If the farmers mobile numbers are not linked with Aadhaar, they can visit the nearest Common Service Centers and get the biometric based e-KYC process done.

- Details of bank account
- Documents showing ownership of land
What is the eligibility for PM-KISAN Yojana ?
- The applicant must be a citizen of India.
- The land that the farmer owns must be cultivable land as per government records.
- The applicants Aadhaar card must be linked with his bank account.
- The farmer should belong to a lower economic status group, employees, pensioners or taxpayers are not eligible for this scheme.
- The farmers must complete their e-KYC via OTP or biometric verification to receive benefit.
